Biography

Gabriele Förster (Director and Producer) directed in Germany for 18 years, before she moved to New York in July 2002. Her work as a director included productions of The Skin of Our Teeth, The Birds, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Faithful, Don’t Drink the Water and Lapin Lapin. She also staged self-written experimental performances at unusual places.

Since her debut in New York, Gabriele was involved in productions of TheDrillingCompaNY (Theft and Don’t Bring me Down) and Isle of Shoals Productions, Inc. (Occupation: Dragonslayer and Isolated Isles). She directed at the Brooklyn Impact Theatre in February 2003 Lysistrata by Aristophanes. At the end of May she had a guest performance with Lysistrata in Mainz, Germany, at the theatre Mainzer Kammerspiele. In August 2003, she directed Silver Bullet Day by Thomas Biel in the Theatre-Studio, Inc. Her third New York production was Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov in the Chocolate Factory, January 2004.

She directed P. Seth Bauer's play First Time Out of Bounds in the show Honor produced by TheDrillingCompaNY in October 2004. An Angel Comes to Babylon by Friedrich Dürrenmatt was presented as a reading in the 78th Street Theatre Lab in November 2004.  

Gabriele had her New York-debut as an actress in the Isle of Shoals Productions, Inc. show An Intimate Eve with Will & Chris (June 2005).

Moving to Berlin in July 2005.

Back to New York for a few weeks, Gabriele directed P. Seth Bauer's Stop the Lawns in the Revenge II show produced by TheDrillingCompaNY in November/December 2005.

In February 2006, she showed her productions of "Zum ersten Mal über die Linie" ("First Time out of Bounds") and "Schluss damit" ("Stop the Lawns") by P. Seth Bauer after translation into German at the Theater Festival "100° Berlin"
